Just a reminder that practice starts tomorrow at Burnet Middle School at 7:00pm! Directions are available at www.austinvalkyries.com.
Please plan to arrive a little early to boot up and be ready to play by 7pm. Practice is every Monday/Wednesday from 7pm to 9pm.
Note: we will be practicing on the field inside the track, as the north field is having some repairs done.
A few important housekeeping items:
1. Medical History: Returning players, if your health insurance or medical history has changed since the fall, please bring me a new copy of the medical form.
New Players: please bring me a copy of your insurance card (front/back), driver’s license, and list any medical history, medications, and allergies that we should know about, all on one piece of paper. This information will be kept confidential, we just keep it on file for travel and emergency purposes.
2. CIPP: New to Austin players: If you were CIPPed last fall with another team, you will need to transfer your CIPP to the Valkyries. To do so, please go to www.usarugby.org, select Membership, and select transfer CIPP. Please email me when you do this, so I can check the roster and get a waiver from you.
New/returning to rugby players: USA Rugby requires every player to register with them. It’s an easy online process, that I will explain more to you at practice. You don’t need to do this immediately, but once you realize how amazing rugby is, you will need to do so before the first game (Feb 27). The cost is $60 and its good for one year (everyone has to renew each August).
3. Dues: Dues this season are $100. Dues go toward field fees and lights, team equipment, and team travel. Please make checks payable to Austin Valkyries Women’s Rugby, and give them to Francine. Please contact Francine if you’d like to work out a payment plan. Some amount of dues is required before the first game (Feb 27).
Other than that, don’t forget your boots (soccer cleats are fine), mouth guard, and lots of water!
If you have any questions, please let me know. See you tomorrow!
Cheers,
Marinda
