Welcome! The Austin Valkyries are always looking for new players and welcome any and all women who are interested in joining our club. Come out and get a workout in! Our aim is to build on our successes to become the region’s premier rugby club – and we want you to be part of that! No experience is necessary; all of us learned the game from scratch at some point so we are very understanding of brand new players. Our coaching staff is committed to teaching the basic skills necessary for learning the great game of rugby, and will introduce new players to live action in a safe and appropriate manner. After all, we want you to stay around and play forever…like us!

Starting July 30, we will be training every Monday/Wednesday at 7:30pm at Burnet Middle School in North Austin. Practice attendance is encouraged both days.

What should I do before then? Go for a run! Hit the gym. We are in preseason right now, so that means we’re all starting to workout. If you are new to rugby, I recommend going on youtube or our vimeo to check out some video.

Starting a new sport is scary, but I promise we don’t bite! We tackle!
